Answers to some frequently asked questions:
This section will be updated as questions come in to the DPCS, DPFS and Management Groups.
Q: Where do I fill out my annual budget?
A: Annual budgeting system is hosted on eActivities here.
Q: Who can I ask for help with budgeting?
A: You can contact your Management Group for assistance; if you do not have a Management Group, please contact dpcs@imperial.ac.uk and dpfs@imperial.ac.uk.
Q: How do I write a budget?
A: It should be an honest representation of your club’s expected income and expenditure in a normal year. Previous budgets and your actual transactions so far this academic year are the best places to start.
Q: Where do I find my previous budgets?
A: Budgets from up to 19-20 can be found here. You can find your budget from last year here.
Q: What do I do if I don't understand my previous budgets?
A: You can try reaching out to your Management Group or predessors to help you look through your previous budgets, or attend one of our budgeting meetings. Budgets can be confusing, so don't worry if you need to reach out for help!
Q: How will the Union know if we’re being honest?
A: Your budget will be compared against known data, including 5-year trend graphs and financial data for years up to and including 2018/19. Lying on your budget can result in disciplinary action against your CSP, and risking receiving no grant.
