Role of a Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for a number of aspects within the society. They are one of the key officer roles and will have overall responsibility for the society finances.
You will also be accountable for 7 years for the financial decisions you make during your time as Treasurer.
The role is split into two broad themes,
- Day to day management of the finances of the society
- Strategic long term vision for the society’s finances.
Payment dates
Please plan all your payments in advance to ensure they are paid on time, preventing any late fees or missed opportunities.
Please note college closure dates, such as Easter and Christmas will impact payment dates.
Approval Chains
With all the processes there are chains of approval that they must go through. Below shows the level of approval needed at each cost bracket.

£1000+ | Club, Society or Project Chair or Treasurer AND Treasurer or Vice Chair AND Finance Coordinator Union AND Deputy President Activities. | Full VAT invoice |
