Committee training, support & quizzes

Training & support

This article will outline all of the support available to commitee members of CSP's, primarily through online or in person training. You can use this support as a commitee member, when looking for help establishing your CSP, the day to day running of that CSP and organising events amongst other things. All the information you need for training, should be available on the eActivities platform.

The Training Hub is only one small part of the training and support available to support you in your volunteer role. Up-to-date information regarding training, including workshop times and dates, can be found on the Union website Training page.

Outline
Training HubThe Training Hub is an online resource for all volunteers at the Union. The collections provide basic information, including processes that relate to the day-to-day running of your CSP. This should be your first point of call when you have a query.
Volunteer Training WeekVolunteer Training Week is our new training programme run annually, in both the summer and autumn term, to train new and returning volunteers within Imperial College Union. This includes essential training on topics like finance and managing risk, as well as skills-based workshops such as Event Delivery.
WorkshopsAd-hoc workshops are delivered throughout the autumn term to expand committee officers' knowledge and skills. Past workshops include Trips & Tours and Annual Budgeting. These are advertised on the What's On calender where you will be able to reserve your place.
Management Group/Constituent UnionYour Management Group (MG) or Constituent Union (CU) is made up of key volunteers that have likely been in your shoes. These volunteers are key contacts and another port of call when you have a query after consulting the Training Hub.
Drop-insThe Student Opportunities and Development team offer a number of drop-in sessions throughout the year to answer specific queries and to offer advice and support. These are advertised on the What's On calender.

Quizzes & permissions

There are a number of mandatory online quizzes to be taken. These are to ensure that you have understood the relevant training. These quizzes are linked to your permissions in eActivities and must be completed before access is given. More information on your permissions, and the quizzes linked to them can be found in the table below.

Please note: if you are a returning officer and already have access to eActivities, do not take any quizzes until after August 01 as your results will be wiped from the system, and you will need to re-take them.
